Tips on how to create your Bespoke Kitchens London

You want and need a brand new kitchen and you have heard that custom is very best because it will suit your specific space, tastes and requirements, right? But you've also heard that you should use an interior designer and that is expensive! But who says that Bespoke Kitchens London have to be costly? How about designing and creating a bespoke kitchen yourself?

How to start

But where to start, especially if one is vague about what one wants or what's possible? Well, there are a wealth of sites and Apps out there that could introduce you to options in terms of dcor styles, furnishing options, equipment and so on.

Initial steps

Just before you rush out to look for furniture and equipment, there are some things you need to decide and think about:

1. What style do you want? A Farmhouse or country kitchen, French or a modern and contemporary style, for instance? Most styles can be successfully combined.
2. Once you have chosen the design you can then decide about the colours that you would like to use. A few designs have certain colour schemes but with others you can choose any palette you like.
3. Take measurements so you know how big or small - your kitchen place is. You don't want to buy items of furniture that will dominate the room or fill most of it. If you're able to, drawing up a floor diagram might be really useful.
4. What is your spending budget? You want to do this properly but not get yourself into debt.
5. Are there any considerations you should take into account? For instance, you will need work surfaces, cabinets etc that are at great heights for those using the kitchen. You want a kitchen that looks good but is also practical!

As soon as you are clear in your mind about the things you need to buy, start looking for furniture.

Guidelines on purchasing furniture and equipment

Regarding where to purchase furniture, you don't need to go to specialist shops or conventional retailers at all. What about going to wholesalers, auctions, liquidators, second-hand shops, charity or donation stores, markets and garage sales and watching print commercials? Also there are online options such as eBay and Craigslist. One can pick up some excellent buys if you know keep away from the junk.

Look cautiously at items of furniture. If they have drawers open them to check if they slide well or stick. If it is a wooden item, look for signs of decay or pest activity. With metal pieces you should check for rust. Don't ignore an item simply because it looks battered and sad. If it seems sound, it may need some TLC to look beautiful.

Much that applies to furniture appliances too. They can be sourced from the same places and in the same ways. Of course, with appliances one has to ensure that they work. The disadvantages of second-hand appliances as opposed to new ones is that they're very unlikely to be covered by a warranty or guarantee and delivery and installation may well not be options either.
